A Mark Jones goal after 13 minutes secured the three points while we had three efforts cleared off the line in the first half.

After 3 minutes we had a free kick 35 yards out , Michael Waters found Darren Griffiths who played it back to Corey Thomas he squared it to Scott McCoubrey who in turn passed to Shaun Morgan, Shaun tried his luck from 25 yards but shot over the bar.

We continued to take the game to the home side and an Ian Turner shot hit Mark Jones and wrong footed the keeper to find the back of the net but unfortunately Mark was offside. After 10 minutes a long diagonal ball into our area was headed just over the crossbar. Then on thirteen minutes we took the lead, Karl Lewis picked up a loose ball in midfield and found Scott McCoubrey, he beat several players on the edge of the area and cut in and tried a shot which was blocked, Mark Jones reacted quickest and shot into the empty net.

On sixteen minutes Corey Thomas found Ian Turner on the overlap, his cross found Darren Griffiths but his shot was blocked and went for a corner. The corner was played in and Darren had his shot blocked on the line. On 24 minutes another Lido free kick was played in by Michael Waters to Mark Jones and his header was blocked by the keeper who eventually cleared the ball. Croesy went down the other end and won a corner, centre back Dan Clare had a free header but Leon Cosker made a fingertip save to keep us ahead.

On 31 minutes we should have been two up when from a free kick Karl Lewis with a free header from 12 yards hit the crossbar. Scott McCoubrey then picked up a loose ball and knocked it wide to Michael Waters but Michael's cross was much too strong for anyone to get a touch. Positive defending by Shaun Morgan following a Croesy corner cleared the danger when he dived forward to head clear and again a few minutes later we pushed Croesy back and Mark Jones won the ball on half way made ground and won a corner.

After 38 minutes we had another chance cleared off the line when following a long clearance by Leon Cosker we won a corner, Michael Waters took it and a defender headed it back towards his own goal with the keeper kicking it clear. Just before half time Corey Thomas was badly fouled on the half way line, Corey had to be replaced at the interval and Luke Fernquest the Croesy no. 3 had a straight red. Carl Payne replaced Corey for the start of the second half and Ian Jones replaced Karl Lewis who was also injured with Mark Jones dropping back to play in midfield.

From the kick off Carl Payne knocked a ball in to the Croesy penalty area but Darren Griffith headed over.  Despite having the extra man we were allowing Croesy to put us under pressure by giving away needless free kicks by getting offside just inside their half. Croesy relied on a long ball which Justin Williams and Shaun Morgan dealt with most times. On the hour Michael Waters beat a couple of players down the left and his cross from the byeline found Scott McCoubrey whose first time shot hit the post.

With twenty minutes to go poor defending allowed a cross in from Croesy's right but Leon Cosker made an instinctive save to keep us ahead. With just over 10 minutes to go Mark Jones knocked it wide for Carl Payne, he played the ball in to Sam Wade but his shot was blocked. We then had a free kick wide left which Scott McCoubrey played in low and it beat everyone on the edge of the 6 yard line before Carl Payne picked it up and won a corner on our right. Michael Waters took it and Justin Williams and Shaun Morgan almost combined to get us a second.

Croesy changed to a 3-3-3 system to try and recover the goal but this gave us extra opportunities with both Ian Jones and Mark Jones having shots blocked. With 3 minutes to go Croesy had a free kick which they played into the box but from a good position shot wide. They again put us under pressure but Leon Cosker twice punched the ball to clear his line. In added on time Scott McCoubrey had a final chance but shot at the keeper.
