The game started with the Lido
putting pressure on Ponty straight away
,with Carl P shooting wide. On 5 mins the same player crossed for
Remi
to score from 3 yards .
The Lido should have been 2 up after 10mins
but
Ceri C put over the bar from 6 yards out .A minute later Carl P
powered
a header onto the bar. Ponty settled and got an equaliser on 25
mins
but within a minute Lido restored the lead after Luke B was brought
down
for a penalty Ceri Cooke converting.
Then came a goal saving tackle by
Matt
B on 33 mins .The latter part of the half was evenly fought, on 43
mins
Remi connected with a superb volley which was well saved by the
keeper, then right on half time the impressive Matt Beynon Powered in a header
to
make it 3-1 at half time.
At the start of the 2nd half Ponty got
back
into the game with a well struck shot from 25 yards Ponty took heart
and
pushed forward but Lido defended well. On 69 mins Damon scored Lido's
4th.
Ponty hit the post with a header before Steve on 76 scored from
close range, after the goalkeeper had parried a Ceri Cooke
header.
With less
than 10 mins remaining Remi got his second of the game and Lido's 6th
but Ponty never gave up and got their 3rd right at the end.
